Dan is a direct selling consultant specializing in the development of compensation plan strategies, He began his direct selling career founding Jenkon in 1978 which became one of the premier software providers for the direct selling industry servicing hundreds of new startup companies as well as many large clients such as NuSkin, Shaklee and Avon (China). He has worked with over 800 direct selling companies in every market and designed over 300 compensation plans. Since retiring from Jenkon in 1999, he focuses today on compensation plan strategies and advising companies around the world to adopt industry best practices and avoid some of the costly mistakes many businesses fall victim to.In 1997, Dan was awarded the DSA Partnership Award for his work while at Jenkon. He has published numerous articles on sales force compensation and other industry issues including The 10 Most Common Mistakes of Direct Selling Companies, and has consulted for many companies on their technology and sales force compensation challenges. Dan has been a guest speaker and trainer at many Direct Selling Association events and a member of the DSA since 1984. In June, 2007, Dan received for the second time the prestigious DSA Partnership Award for his personal contribution to the industry and his consulting clients’ success. This coveted award is given to only one person each year based on endorsements of client companies. Dan is the only person in the history of the DSA to have received it twice.
Dan and his wife, Beverly, also find time to enjoy their five children and twelve grandchildren. They reside in Vancouver, Washington (near Portland, Oregon).
